FBI Agent Will Graham is brought out of retirement to try and capture a serial killer, The Tooth Fairy.  In order to crack the case Will Graham must use the help of a killer, Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter.  Agent Graham was originally a victim of Lecter, one of the few who survived.  The way he caught Dr. Hannibal Lecter was to start to think like a psychopath, which after doing so he ended up not being able to make those thoughts leave his mind.  He said he'd never do anything like that again, but this time he's afraid that with him trying to catch The Tooth Fairy, he must use the help of Hannibal, all while he tries to remain sane and keep those thoughts that harmed him once before, away. I had put this movie off for sometime now.  I remember hearing that it was the original movie that featured Hannibal Lecter, whereas a lot of people still think that Silence of the Lambs is the original.  But the story actually started back in 1986 with "Manhunter."  Since I grew up with Anthony Hopkins playing Hannibal, I was afraid of how Brian Cox would play Hannibal, and if he pulled ...

On the last night of summer camp, the story is told of "Madman Marz" - a beserk local farmer who butchered his entire family before disappearing into the woods forever.  You must not say his name above a whisper the legend says, because if he hears you, he will come for you.  But when a cocky young teen ridicules the tale and calls the madman's name out loud, the maniacal evil is unleashed.  Summer may be over, but the ferocious bloodshed has just begun! This film is ranked # 9 on the Job Bob Briggs All Time top 10 Drive-In Movie Classics.   Many consider this movie to be one of the better Friday the 13th clones that came out non-stop during the 80's, and I agree with them.  This movie is filled with terror and suspense.  This movie will keep you entertained throughout the entire film, and it never gets boring.  Some of the acting in this movie is pretty bad, but the gore and suspense makes up for that.  If you are a fan of the 80's slasher genre, then you shouldn't miss this one.  I give it a 7 out of 10.

It was supposed to be an easy bank robbery.  They were supposed to go in, collect the money, and meet at a house in the middle of nowhere.  Unfortunately, the bank robbery didn't go as planned and one of them has been shot dead, one of them has hijacked a car and kidnapped a mother and her daughter, and the other two are on their way to the house.  However, the worst is yet to come because next door to their house is the home of a serial killer. When the first robber, Kurt, arrives at the house, he had kidnapped a mother and her daughter.  The daughter managed to escape and she runs to the house next door.  However, inside the house is a serial killer who is waiting for them to enter.  Soon, the other two robbers, Julian and Marilyn, arrive at the house and discover the mother, Samantha, tied up.  Instead of letting her go, they keep her tied up until the serial killer arrives and starts to kill each of them.  Then it becomes a battle for survival as the killer hacks his way through each and everyone who gets in his way. My Bloody Valentine has long awaited a DVD release.  Fans have wanted this one ever since the DVD format first came out.  Well we finally have this movie on DVD and Paramount was the company to release it.  So did Paramount release something that will please the fans?  Let's take a look and see. The film is presented in a widescreen 1.85:1 aspect ratio.  The picture quality on this DVD looks amazing.  It's very sharp and clear.  There is barely, if any grain throughout the entire film.  For the sound, we get a mono soundtrack, but I was still pretty pleased with that. For the extra features, well there aren't any extra features so I really don't see how anyone could be pleased with this.  Normally in the past Paramount at least gives us theatrical trailers for their DVD's, but with this one, the fans know there are extra features all over the place for this film, but Paramount must have forgot to add them. Well, there isn't much to say about a DVD that doesn't have anything to offer.  I guess Paramount thinks they can fool us with this barebones release.  I guess they think that horror fans don't realize that this ...

They all seem to have the same kind of formula, zombies rising up from their graves to munch on the living, but that's where the latest Brett Kelly flick, MY DEAD GIRLFRIEND differs. This one is a horror-comedy that really delivers on the laughs and the gore. Brett Kelly plays Steve, a college professor who just adores his girlfriend Amy. He wants to make the relationship a permanent one, but things go horribly wrong when he accidentally backs over her with his car, killing her instantly. After constant interruptions, Steve goes about trying to revive his lady love by using one of her witchcraft books and it works...she is now one of the living dead. To make sure that no one knows about this whole incident, he takes Amy to a cottage out in the woods, so they can be alone, but that's where the fun begins when their friends show up to have a little fun and Steve tries to hide the fact that Amy is dead. Laughs and gore ensue! MY DEAD GIRLFRIEND is quite possibly the best film that Brett Kelly ...

When Showtime first announced the Masters of Horror series, I was one very excited fellow. Some of the best-known names in the business would be directing all-out horror for the fans on a network that airs an occasional exceptional drama or two. And then, something terrible happened. The series aired. The drama was barely existent. The direction was tepid, at some points utterly bland and surprisingly contrived. The dialogue was horrendous and the effects, at best, were B-rated. I couldn't have been more dissapointed if Stephen King himself had just announced he was now going to write romance novels with Daniele Steele. (Although, letting King have his violent way with the vast majority of Steele's predictable plotlines and characters does resonate on the vengeful fun side. I disgress.) Season two of Masters of Horror has done little in the way of redemption. The thing is: these directors have all done some excellent work. But that's the rub right there: it's been done. One would expect, given the chance, each director would explore new ground. Or at least repair and retread old ground with the knowledge each must have gained through the years.
