When a terrible storm hits, ten strangers end up at a motel by some unusual turn of events.  There is the family, with the mother becoming terribly injured, the ex-police officer who escorts movie stars around, newlyweds, a hooker, and a cop transporting a convicted murderer.  Once inside the motel, the strangers are forced to meet once a deranged killer starts picking them off one by one, only these strangers have more in common than they may know. We are first introduced to our characters as they become forced to stay at a motel in the middle of a storm.  There's the hooker, who is looking in her bag for something, but ends up losing some of her stuff as it flies out of her convertible.  One of the things that flies out is a high heel shoe.  Our next group of people is a man, his wife and their son.  Their car hits the shoe and they end up with a flat tire.  As the man is trying to fix it, the woman ends up stepping into traffic and is hit by John Cusack's car.  John Cusack is escorting an actress, played by Rebecca DeMornay.  John Cusack then takes the ...
