Hatred of a Minute is a film I have been reading about on Bruce Campbell’s website for quite some time.  Big kudos to Anchor Bay for putting out a truly independent film and giving it a treatment deserving of a blockbuster smash hit.  Loaded with extras this disc will keep you busy for hours.  A solid transfer combined with all these extras make this an easy recommendation.  I was lucky enough to grab a copy at a recent convention in Chicago.  This is definitely worth seeking out if you are an independent film fan, Bruce Campbell fan, Michigan film fan, or just looking for something new.   The film is excellent and the disc is one of the best of the year so far.  9 out of 10.

Key East Entertainment brings us this absolutely weird movie.  An outlaw gang is on the run from the law.  When one of the members murders a liquor store attendant, the leader of the group, a lesbian Gulf war veteran, decides they must hide out.  They kidnap a young woman and force her to take them back to her home.  Once there, the gang completely takes over the house and tells the family that if they try to escape, one of their daughters will be killed. But when the gang stumbles upon this families dirty little secret, it quickly turns into a bloody  game of cat and mouse. This is one strange movie.  How many other movies have a lesbian war veteran as a main character and a scene where a hot chick masturbates in a bathtub filled with blood?  Not many!  The story is actually pretty good.  It twists and turns while at the same time manages to stay fresh.  There aren't any real scary moments, but there is lots of gore, gore and more gore.  There are a few annoying problems with this movie though.  For one, some of the special effects were done with computers and most of them ...

Anchor Bay released this limited edition tin version of Halloween 5.  The Limited Edition Tin is the exact same as the regular one that was released, except this one is limited edition with only 15,000 copies made.  I'd only get this one if you are a collector, otherwise just get the regular one.  I give it 5 out of 10 stars.

At one time I would have recommended you buying this one to complete your set of Halloween movies on DVD.  But now Anchor Bay has released a Limited Edition version with a couple more extras.  Though I am keeping this version becaues I think the only extra is a documentary or something.  This one was released in 1999 and I had bought it as soon as it was released.  I was hoping to just complete my collection of Halloween movies on DVD.  The picture and sound quality aren't bad.  In fact they are quite good.  They are a step above the VHS release.  So buy this one if you want, otherwise just get the Limited Edition version if you are collecting them.  I give this one 4 out of 10 stars.

Anchor Bay released this amazing dvd to us back in September of 99.  I recommend this movie to anyone who collects dvd's.  The picture quality is far better then any version of Halloween I have ever seen.  This is the ultimate edition to get this DVD.  Anyone who considers themselves a Halloween fan or a horror fan needs to own this version of Halloween on DVD.  You get both the theatrical version and the TV version.  If you are a fan of this films, I suggest you trying to get the Limited Edition, the extras are great.  Good luck finding one.  This is one of my favorites in my collection.  I give this one an 10 out of 10 stars.

Back in 1997, the horror world got a nice shot in the arm by a very different independent film called Cube.  Heralded for its originality and interesting plot, Cube turned out to be a solid film with a worthy cult status.  So of course what happens next is we get the obligatory sequel.  Showcased on the Sci-Fi channel, Hypercube was pumped up for a long time and expectations grew and grew.  Would this one live up to the expectations?   Let’s take a look… Eight strangers wake up in a strange place where none of them have been before.  Every room they go into looks exactly the same.  The laws of physics are turned on their heads as some rooms have no gravity and others move in slow or fast motion.  The group quickly learns that getting out won’t be an easy task.  Will learn to work together to make it out?  And are some in the group not what they seem? Steven Price is a wealthy amusement park owner who invites several strangers to his shrewish wife's birthday party, this year held in the abandoned Vannacutt Institute for the Mentally Insane. There, he offers a prize of one million dollars to each party-goer who can spend the entire night in the creepy and cavernous building. As Mr. and Mrs. Price play a bitter game of cat and mouse, the guests begin to think there are more ominous forces at work, especially after the body count begins to creep higher and higher. At first this movie was actually pretty good, but at times it wasn't.  When it showed the ghosts they looked too fake.  This movie does have plenty of gore.  Geoffrey Rush plays Steven Price, who's character was originall played by Vincent Price, and I think that he was perfect for the part because he kind of looks like Vincent Price.   Overall this is a decent movie, but not the best.  I give it a 5 out of 10.

It's the biggest party of the year, and a group of friends have missed their boat.  They convince a fishing boat captain to take them to the island, but once they arrive they discover that the island has been deserted.  After discovering that the island has been inhabited by an army of zombies, they team up with the remaining survivors in an attempt to survive the night. The movie opens with Rudy giving a commentary of the events that took place.  He introduces us to each character and we then cut to his friends who have missed the boat to get onto the island to join the party.  The friends talk with Captain Kirk, and convince him to take them to the island.  They are then followed  by a police officer, played by Ellie Cornell, who stared in Halloween 4 and 5.  Once on the island, they find that the party has been stopped and the island deserted.  They find a house and inside they meet up with Rudy and a few other survivors.  They team up and try to make it to the boat so that Captain Kirk can take them back home.  Once they make it back to the ...

Los Angeles homcide detective, Vernan Coyle, is investigating a series of murders who has left no clues.  They call the murdererthe "Midnight Rapter."   He has no clues as to what is happening until his girlfriend turns into a werewolf.   This mini series gives you the three most legendary monsters: Vampires, Werewolfs, and Frankenstein's monster.  This film doesn't bring you the ones that are protrayed in the early 30's and 40's.  This film shows us the real ones.  Frankenstein's monster from from Mary Shelley's novel, and the vampires and werewolves from old folklore.   We see still that the Frankenstein monster isn't a monster like the old movies, but just misguided like in Mary Shelley's novel.  The vampires are practically running the town with the werewolves serving them.  The head vampire, Crispian Grimes, is in search for the Frankenstein monster in hopes to get him on their side.  It is now up to Vernon Coyle to stop them from doing so and changing Grace back into a human. This movie has it all.  It's three and a half hours of vampires, werewolves, and the Frankenstein monster.  When I first heard about this back in 1997 I was really looking forward to it.  So ...

It is October 30, 1977 and two couples are on a road trip for their book.  They soon run out of gas and have to go to a place called Captain Spaulding's Museum of Monsters and Madmen.  There they get gas and meet the crazy Captain Spaulding.  He takes them on a theme park ride, called the murder ride, where he tells them the story of Dr. Satan.  After the ride is over, they decide to try and find the tree where Dr. Satan was hung, so they get Captain Spaulding to write them a map to where it was.  Soon they pick up a hitchhiker since it's pouring down rain.  While they are driving her to her home, their car breaks down and they are forced to stay at her place for the night.  Little do they know that her family is planning a huge Halloween party, where these two couples are the guests of honor.
