Dr. Miranda Grey is one of the leading psychiatrists at a mental institute. One night, during a terrible storm, she drives home. When she wakes up, she finds herself locked in the very rooms where her patients stay. She has been accused of killing her husband, yet she has no memory of it. As she tries to discover what is going on, and she starts to see a ghost everywhere she goes she must discover the ghost's hidden agenda and convince the other doctors of what is going on before she ends up in this hospital forever. Miranda Grey is working with a patient, Chloe. Afterwards, she is getting ready to leave work when a terrible thunderstorm hits. As she is driving home, she has to take a detour. On this detour, she almost hits a young girl that is standing in the middle of the road. As she walks over to the girl, she discovers the girl is badly beaten and cut.
