Paramount has finally released the final Jason movie that they had the rights to. Have they listened to what the fans want with a special edition Friday the 13th movie yet? Nope, they sure didn't. Again we get another bare-bones release and to top it off, the back of the box says "Special Features Not Rated."
The movie is presented in a widescreen 1.85:1 aspect ratio. It has a nice and clear picture with very little grain, if any. It has a much better picture quality than the VHS, but still it's nothing to be proud of. For the sound quality, it is pretty good and my surround sound system works just fine with it. Still it's nothing to really brag about there. It's pretty much a re-mastered VHS on a disc.
For the special features, we get a warning on the back of the box saying "Special Features Not Rated." Well I can see why they wouldn't be rated, they aren't even there. This is the eighth release in the Friday the 13th series and it's another bare-bones release.
